Uncle Ian’s incredibly useful documents for Westbury based Guards. I’ve designed these documents as memory aids and references purely for my personal use. However, I’m happy for any other railway personnel to make use of them, which is why I’ve made them available here. Remember that they are unofficial and not sanctioned by FGW and I’m not responsible for any action you take based on the contents. You are responsible for your own railway knowledge. But please let me know if you find any of the deliberate mistakes as you may be entitled to a reward. Ha!
All of the publications are in PDF format so that they can be read online, saved to your PC and/or printed out.

There’s an information sheet that gives instructions for how to print the documents in double-sided booklet form.

You need Adobe Reader to open PDFs. Free download button on the right.
Ensure you download the correct version for your operating system!
Untick any extras or toolbars if you don’t want them.

Smartphones and Tablets

This site is written for PC browsers so may not display properly in a portable device. However, smartphones and tablets are a great way to carry and view PDF files like these. It saves having to print them out and keep them tidy. The two A5 booklets are now also offered in A4 format for this reason.

Zipped Folders

There are three zipped (compressed) folders available to download. This enables you to download multiple files in one easy package. You MUST unzip (decompress) the folder after download before you can use the files.

1. 30Mb zip contains ALL the other available files with the exception of:
2. 15Mb zip: The Rule Book, containing all modules for drivers and guards
3. 36Mb zip: FGW Appendix to the Rule Book and Fires on Trains
PASSWORD PROTECTED
